Well, here we are at the end of August, the end of summer! College football began this weekend. Therefore, it is fall!
We will also be ramping up our Adult Religious Education Opportunities and our Parish Religious Education Program. Bible Studies and gatherings of the CCW and Men’s Club will begin. The schedule at the Church begins to pick up and the campus is abuzz with activity!
As our schedules get busier with the coming of fall, we should begin again our spiritual endeavors that may have eased up over the summer. Perhaps reading the daily readings for 10 minutes fell by the wayside over the summer. Let’s begin that again with the help of the Magnificat (a great monthly publication at www.magnificat.com) or The Word Among Us (www.wau.org). Last year, perhaps you were in the habit of coming to the parking lot early before dismissal from school to spend 15 minutes in the Church or the Lumen Christi Adoration Chapel before the children came out to go home from school. Time to get that practice going again!
Everything is starting back up. Let’s be sure that our spiritual practices, devotions, and exercises make their way into our routine. Better yet, let’s make sure that our routine is built around them – coming to Sunday mass, reading the daily readings, saying the rosary as a family, praying the Divine Mercy Chaplet as a family, etc….
Next weekend is Labor Day weekend. Have a safe and restful Labor Day!
Have a wonderful week and may the Lord bless you and your families abundantly!
