CONGRATULATIONS!
This past Thursday, our 8th Graders at St. James School graduated! Congratulations again to each of you! We are still here for you and you remain a part of our St. James Family as you move on to high school!
SOLEMNITY OF THE ASCENSION OF THE LORD
The Solemnity of the Ascension of the Lord is moved to next Sunday from its traditional place on Thursday of the 6th Week of Easter. Scripture mentions that Jesus ascended into heaven after spending 40 days meeting with the disciples and speaking with them about the Kingdom of God after His Resurrection. In most dioceses in the United States, including ours, the Solemnity has been transferred to the 7th Sunday of Easter.
MUCH GRATITUDE
Bobby Davis, the Altar Server Coordinator, is resigning from his position after 15 years of organizing and training the Altar Servers at St. James! He has been tireless in his dedication to the parish and to enhancing the liturgy! I cannot thank him enough for his work over the years. He will still be around, so we will continue to be blessed by his joy, wit, and humor! Thank you, Bobby!
SAVE THE DATES
As you all are aware of by now, Sr. Emily is leaving St. James for a new assignment. On June 5th, between the 9:00 AM and the 11:30 AM masses, we will have a reception in her honor. Please come and offer your gratitude for her and all she has done here at St. James and to wish her well.
Also, Fr. Patrick May is leaving St. James for another assignment in the Diocese which begins July 1st. We will have a Farewell Reception for him on Saturday evening, June 18th, after the 5:00 PM Vigil Mass. Please mark your calendars to come to thank him for his time here at St. James and to wish him well in his new assignment.
May the Lord abundantly bless each of you and your families throughout this Easter Season!
