Happy Thanksgiving!

I hope that you and your family and friends had a Happy Thanksgiving with lots of good food, fellowship, and fun! This weekend and every day may our hearts swell with gratitude for the many blessings we receive!

I was in Augusta for Thanksgiving, and we had a mass for my parents’ 50th Wedding Anniversary, followed by a reception with many of their friends! It was a magnificent celebration! How grateful I am to their wonderful witness of married love through all these years! The Lord has blessed them in a myriad of ways and abundantly blessed us – their children, family, friends, and the Church – through them! I am honored to call Michael and Beverly Firmin my father and mother!

Blessed Advent!

Advent begins today! I hope that you have your wreaths out and your Advent Calendars hanging in your homes! We begin this Sunday a period of anxious anticipation of the birth of our Savior, Jesus Christ! We prepare by getting our hearts and souls clean. We prepare by resisting the rush and busyness of the month and purposefully entering into some stillness and quiet time with the Lord Jesus, Mary, and Joseph. How will you prepare?

We have ordered some Advent Companions from Magnificat publications. This can be a resource and tool for you to take advantage of this beautiful season of Advent. There is a limited supply, but you can also order one at www.magnificat.com.

Mark your calendars: Christmas Masses on Christmas Eve, Tuesday, December 24th are 5:00 PM in the Parish Center/Gym and 5:00 PM in the School Cafeteria, 7:00 PM in the Parish Center/Gym, 9:00 PM in the Parish Center/Gym, and 10:00 PM at the Chapel of Our Lady of Good Hope, and on Christmas Day, Wednesday, December 25th at 10:00 AM in the Parish Center/Gym (one of the most beautiful masses of the year in my opinion!).

St. James the Less, pray for us!

May you and your families know the abundant love of God this Advent Season!
