Here we are…Sunday #1 having mass in the Parish Center/Gymnasium and Tuesday begins our mass in the Mercy Conference Room. The staging area is set up with fencing and dumpsters and we are about to launch! What an exciting time!
This week, the pews will begin to be removed and the sanctuary will be prepared for all the work! A couple weeks later, the first part of November, construction of the access road behind the school will begin with a completion date of late December 2025.
These projects mark a new chapter in the history of St. James Parish! What an exciting time to be a parishioner of St. James! I am blessed to be here with you and go with you through all of this! Come on! Join in the adventure of what Almighty God is doing here in our parish!
Please pray for the success of our Charging Forward in Faith and Education capital campaign, for successful fundraising and for the projects!
Annual Priest Retreat
This week, the priests of the Diocese of Savannah will be on retreat at Marywood in Jacksonville on the St. John’s River. It will be a time of rest, renewal, and rejuvenation! Our time is filled with mass, personal and communal prayer, presentations, recreation, and fraternity. We want to be the priests you need us to be and who you deserve us to be. We desire to be priests who model the love of the Sacred Heart of Jesus, priests whose hearts burn with zeal for souls and love for those entrusted to us. This time away helps us to reflect on what the Lord is asking us to do so that we might be better instruments of Him and bring Him to you, his beautiful, holy, faithful people. Please pray for all of us this week. (But mostly your three great priests here at St. James!)
St. James the Less, pray for us and all our endeavors and plans!
May the Lord Jesus bless you and your families abundantly this week!
