Retreat and Family Vacation

Thank you for your prayers as I went on retreat and family vacation these last few weeks! The time for prayer, quiet, play, family time, and peace were just what I needed! For both weeks, my access to wi-fi and good cell reception was quite limited, thus making me amazingly free and unplugged. It really was rejuvenating and refreshing!

Welcome Teachers and Staff

This week, we welcome back our St. James School Faculty and Staff! After what feels to me like an incredibly short summer (though parents may disagree with my sentiment!), our teachers and staff return to the school to prepare for the 2024-2025 School Year. We are looking forward to having them present again on campus and in the halls. Students begin on August 8th, which is just around the corner! As the summer winds to a close, please remember the Sisters, teachers, staff, students, and family in your prayers as the school year returns.

Now for a few announcements…

Normal Office Hours

Over the summer, we experimented with truncated office hours – opening the Church Office from 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM, Monday through Friday. Though the office was closed, the church staff were available to answer the phone or do other work from home or at the parish offices without interruption. I think it was successful and we will do that again next year.

Monday, August 5th, we will resume regular office hours for the Church Office – 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, Monday through Thursday, and 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM on Friday.

Sunday Holy Hour for Healing

During the pandemic, we began a Holy Hour for Healing every Sunday at 4:00 PM , during which we prayed Vespers (Evening Prayer). We continued the Holy Hour these past few years. This Holy Hour and Vespers, however, will be discontinued beginning next weekend until further notice. Perhaps in the future it will be revived in a new format with new vigor. For the time being, it will end.

May the Lord Jesus bless you and your families abundantly this week!
