Confessions are heard Wednesdays from 5:00 P – 5:45 P, on Saturdays from 4:00 P - 4:45 P, and by appointment at 912-355-1523. Special penitential services are also held during Advent and Lent.

The sacrament of reconciliation (penance) is the liturgical celebration of God’s forgiveness of the sins of the penitent, who is thus reconciled with God and with the Church.

The acts of the penitent – contrition, the confession of sins, and satisfaction or reparation – together with the prayer of absolution by the priest, constitute the elements of the sacrament of penance.

Receive the Holy Spirit! Whose sins you shall forgive, they are forgiven, whose sins you shall retain, they are retained. John 20:22

Our Church teaches that the faithful have an obligation to confess their sins at least annually.

In the sacrament of reconciliation we find new life and peace through God’s mercy and unconditional forgiveness. It is one of the clearest signs of God’s love for his people.

Interior penance is a conversion of heart toward God and away from sin, which implies the intention to change one’s life because of hope in divine mercy (Catechism 1431). External acts of penance include fasting, prayer, and almsgiving (CCC 1434).
